Lyon have slashed their asking price for Tottenham target Memphis Depay, according to ESPN

After struggling to make much of an impression at Manchester United, Depay has quickly found his feet at the Groupama Stadium, bagging nine goals in 13 games in Ligue 1 this season.

Italian outlet Calciomercato revealed in November that Spurs and Premier League rivals Liverpool were keen to bring the former Old Trafford forward back to England in January.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form for Lyon, scoring 14 goals in 18 appearances this season, along with averaging 3.8 shots and 2.2 key passes per game and successfully completing 2.1 dribbles per game (WhoScored).

However, reports claim the French side have cut his valuation to £30m, as the Dutch international has entered the last year of his contract, and is stalling on signing along the dotted line. Whether or not Daniel Levy revisits the transfer target in the summer remains to be seen, but his new market valuation should give the chairman something to consider.

Predictably, plenty of Spurs fans discussed the news on social media, with one fan noting "he loves United," while another added "bring him in."
