Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to Peter Crouch’s response to Jose Mourinho

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch has responded to a quip made by manager Jose Mourinho following the recent injury news regarding Son Heung-min.

The South Korean forward was ruled out for the rest of the season by the former Chelsea boss on Tuesday (Dan Kilpatrick) after it was revealed that he had fractured his right arm in their 3-2 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday. That has left the club with something of a striker crisis on their hands, with Harry Kane also currently on the sidelines having had surgery in January to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring (tottenhamhotspur.com).

Whilst they do have forward players such as Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn on their books, their only fit recognised striker is 18-year-old Troy Parrott. Ahead of their game against RB Leipzig, Mourinho was asked about Barcelona being able to make an emergency signing and whether he could do a similar thing at Spurs. He admitted that he wasn’t sure, but jokingly threw Crouch’s name out there (@HaytersTV).

The ex-England striker has now responded to Mourinho, admitting that he is “ready” to return to the north London club (@petercrouch).

Whilst the 39-year-old is almost certainly joking, plenty of Tottenham fans have been reacting to Crouch’s post and loads of them actually seem to want him to dust off his boots and return to the club he initially played for between 2009-11. Here is what some have been saying on Twitter…
