It was reported by Belgian news outlet Les Sports + recently that Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho was interested in signing Marouane Fellaini in the January transfer window.
The Belgian is currently playing for Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng having left Manchester United earlier in 2019 (BBC Sport).
Should Spurs sign Marouane Fellaini?
Having worked with Mourinho at Old Trafford, it wasn’t too much of a surprise to see the 32-year-old linked with a move to Spurs.
However, according to the Evening Standard, the Portuguese manager is not pushing for the club to sign Fellaini, nor is he trying to encourage the signings of Edin Dzeko or Kalidou Koulibaly.
It seems as though this news has come as something of a relief for several Spurs fans, many of whom didn’t want the club to sign the midfielder after initially seeing him linked with a move to north London.
Here is how some Tottenham supporters have reacted on Twitter after seeing that they would not be trying to sign Fellaini in January…
