Tottenham Hotspur: Fans slam Fabrizio Romano’s update on Paulo Dybala

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus intend to offer Tottenham target Paulo Dybala a new contract, and the Italian giants are optimistic they can keep hold of the player for a long time to come.
The Old Lady’s director Fabio Paratici told Sky Sport “we’re working to extend Paulo Dybala’s contract. We want him as part of Juventus for many years.”
Dybala has long been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, most recently as part of a proposed offer for England striker Harry Kane, but this latest update has no doubt thrown a real spanner in the works.
Spurs were in discussion with the Serie A leaders to bring the 26-year-old to North London last summer, before a potential move fell through (BBC Sport).
After arriving at the Allianz Stadium from US Palermo for a reported fee worth £36m, the Argentine forward has scored 7 goals and created 4 assists in 24 games in the Italian top flight this season, taking 3.1 shots per game, making 2 key passes, and completing 1.9 dribbles on average via WhoScored. He is valued at £64.8m and his current agreement expires in 2022 via Transfermarkt.
Despite the fact a number of his appearances for Maurizio Sarri’s side have come from the bench, as the former Chelsea boss has had to juggle with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain, it appears he is a key part of Juve’s plans for the future.
Any plans Daniel Levy had for reopening talks about signing the Argentinian before the start of next season will now be up in the air with the report the Bianconeri aim to hand Dybala a contract extension.
Unsurprisingly, loads of Lilywhites slammed Dybala’s transfer update, with one fan bitterly noting the “dream is over,” and another adding the news is “depressing.”
