Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have slammed Jose Mourinho after subbing on youngster Malachi Fagan-Walcott for the last few minutes of their Champions League tie against RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

The 18-year old, who was making his Spurs debut, came on for Serge Aurier when the north London club were already out of the tie having gone 3-0 down at the Red Bull Arena (BBC Sport). Fagan-Walcott only managed five touches of the ball until the final whistle, perhaps unsurprisingly the lowest out of anybody to make an appearance on the pitch (via Sofascore).

The local boy has something of an unfortunate surname as he shares part of it with former Arsenal player Theo Walcott who had a relatively decent career for the Gunners, scoring 108 times and providing a further 77 assists in 397 appearances in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

These Spurs fans were fuming at Mourinho's decision to bring on the young defender, with one fan even claiming that it was 'embarrassing' for Fagan-Walcott while called the decision 'ridiculous':

Spurs fans, do you think Mourinho was right to sub on Fagan-Walcott for his debut given the circumstances? What did you make of the youngster when he came on? Let us know in the comments down below!
