Tottenham Hotspur fans want to see the back of Christian Eriksen sooner rather than later after fresh reports about Real Madrid’s pursuit of him emerged.
According to COPE (via Football Espana), the Spanish giants are willing to wait until next summer to secure the Dane. Apparently, the only way they’d attempt to sign Eriksen in the upcoming January transfer window is if a player leaves the club.
Eriksen spoke of his want to leave the north London club after the Champions League final, claiming he wanted a new challenge when speaking to Ekstra Bladet.
Following his performances this season, former Spurs man Alan Hutton believes the Denmark international has had his ‘head turned’ (via Football Insider). Indeed, the ex-Ajax playmaker has just one goal and one assist in 11 appearances in all competitions this season (via Transfermarkt).
It seems fans are fed up of the saga surrounding the player and took to Twitter to ask the playmaker to leave.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Spurs fans:
We should still let him go on a free in jan. At least we may be able to save 6 months wages.

Let him go in Jan… he’s off anyway so let Poch start working on a team without the distraction of players that don’t want to be at the club.

Sounds fair – take him – he’s no bloody use to us at the moment.
