Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose was involved in a heated exchange with manager Jose Mourinho after being left out of the matchday squad for their game against Watford at the weekend, that is according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The report suggests that the 29-year-old wanted an explanation as to why he didn’t feature, with Mourinho explaining that he felt that he was not in the right condition to play due to a back problem.
However, Rose apparently took issue with this and voices were raised between the two on the training ground on Sunday. Indeed, Rose was linked with a move away from Spurs in the summer but nothing materialised, with the club reportedly rejecting an offer from Watford (Sky Sports).
Having been left out of the team against Middlesbrough in their FA Cup replay as well as the fixture at Vicarage Road, some may have been questioning whether he remained part of Mourinho’s plans.
The England international has previously ruled out a move away from north London during the current transfer window (The Telegraph), but it seems that after reading about his disagreement with Mourinho many fans would now like to see the back of him.
One fan even suggested that the player was creating a ‘toxic atmosphere’ at the club and that therefore it would be best if he left. Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
Thanks for the memories Danny. Time to go now. Terminate the contract and cut the losses.

Rose needs to leave, making a toxic atmosphere at the club. Good to see the players backing Josė.

That deadwood should have gone at least a year ago. Why can’t we just get rid of these players. Unsettling the team
