Tottenham Hotspur: Fans want Toby Alderweireld to sign a new contract
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been calling for Toby Alderweireld to sign a new deal following their recent victory against West Ham United.

The Belgium international defender’s contract currently expires in the summer (per TransferMarkt), however there has been no suggestion that he is willing to extend his stay at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium any longer than that at the moment.
Indeed, prior to the appointment of Jose Mourinho, an article by The Daily Mail had reported that the centre-back (as with others) were not prepared to sign a new deal and were looking to depart the club.
Of course, it is not difficult to see how vital Alderweireld has been for Tottenham over the years, as he has consistently produced solid numbers.
According to data by WhoScored, the Belgian has gone on to make an average of 1.3 tackles and interceptions per game, as well as 4.2 clearances in his 12 Premier League matches to date.
As such it is not a surprise to see many on Twitter believing that they could be in a better position to tie down the 30-year-old’s immediate future following the Portuguese manager’s arrival and have been vocal with their thoughts.
