A big win midweek against Red Star Belgrade made it seem like Tottenham had finally turned a corner and that results in the Premier League would finally pick up (per BBC Sport). However, against Sheffield United, that did not turn out to be the case.
FULL-TIME: We can’t find a way through in the closing stages and have to settle for a point on another frustrating afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side surrendered a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 with Sheffield United at home as George Baldock scored 12 minutes from time to ensure the points were shared.
And it was a game where Chris Wilder and his team could have secured the win had VAR not intervened and disallowed David McGoldrick’s goal (per BBC Sport).
Will Spurs finish in the top four?
For Tottenham fans on social media, it was the tactics which they believed to be the reasoning for Spurs dropping points against Sheffield United, with supporters pointing out that the north London side didn’t look eager to attack until the final 10 minutes and that Pochettino’s substitutions indicated the Argentine manager was settling for a 1-0 win.
Here’s what Tottenham fans had to say about the team’s tactics following their 1-1 draw with the Blades, with plenty of supporters fuming that Spurs waited so long to pull the trigger against Sheffield United…
Great performance lads way to sit back for 88 mins and expect a win

glad we saved all our attacking for the last 10 minutes

I love Poch but he’s got to go. You cannot have Dier in that game especially on a yellow after Spurs go up 1-0. Dier/Davies combo also should never happen. Aurier is useless. Lucas HAS to come on way earlier as well. I’ve had it

Another flat soulless performance. Kane might be a goalscorer but his movement around the box is 0 Teams have worked him out !

Useless. Has poch lost his head?! Bring on foyth for dele to secure the 1 0?! 10 mins later they are equal and we are forced to throw on moura too late.

Sheffield United are not an outstanding team but fought better than us and wanted the win , we just expect it but don’t show what we can do and is destroy teams like this and send them back where they came from…
But at the moment can’t see a light of this very long tunnel…
