Tottenham Hotspur: Many fans celebrate U21s’ victory

When Tottenham Hotspur U21s played Colchester United in the EFL Trophy, they did what the first-team couldn’t in the Carabao Cup.

Will Spurs finish in the top four?

Yes

Yes

No

No

First of all, they managed to score, when Tashan Oakley-Boothe’s first-time finish made its way past Ethan Ross despite the goalkeeper getting something on it, as shown in the highlights video on the EFL YouTube channel.

The biggest thing is that they managed to win the penalty shootout that followed the draw, which earned them an extra point in their EFL Trophy group:

The two points gained from the game mean that Spurs’ youngsters still have a chance of making it out of the groups if they manage to beat Gillingham, who are currently bottom without any points.

However, that is not what many fans seem to be most focused on, as their attention is firmly held on the fact that the youngsters managed to beat Colchester when the first-team wasn’t able to.

There was plenty of celebration, but while some found the whole situation amusing, some seemed to also find it a little embarrassing for the club’s big players.
