The 27-year-old scored the opening goal of the game in the 12th minute, but following the ensuing collapse, has spoken of his pain after the loss:

Many Spurs fans have backed him after his comments, with one fan saying he is ‘one of us’, while others have stated he has nothing to be sorry for, wishing everyone in the team shared his attitude.

On WhoScored, the South Korea international was rated as Spurs’ best player on the night by a margin of 0.9, having made five shots, completed three dribbles and made one tackle, as well as playing one key pass and completing 88% of all his attempted passes.

Having drawn against Olympiacos, Son and his teammates will be looking to get a result against Crvena Zvezda to get their campaign up and running.
