Miguel Delaney joined Bleacher Report’s Football Ranks podcast and discussed Harry Kane’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur and whether he could stay or leave the club.
Of course, the Englishman is currently out of commission due to a serious injury that could’ve even held him on the sidelines until the very end of the 2019/20 campaign had the recent developments not put football on hold.
Still, with Kane, it was always the question whether he will become too big for Spurs at one point in his career and if he even needs to leave them in order to be compared to some of the greats of this sport.
Delaney believes there’s a certain contradiction with him and he talked about it on Bleacher Report’s Football Ranks podcast (11/3/2020): “It’s a little bit of a contradiction with Harry Kane, because everyone you talk to about him, and the way he talks about himself, he strikes you as this kind of Cristiano Ronaldo character that does absolutely everything possible to hone his career so he’s this ultimate machine to win, except join a club to win something!”
And it’s really difficult to argue with Delaney on this one – Kane has always been adamant in improving himself and becoming one of the best players in the world. But even though he’s been fantastic for both club and country throughout his career, it still seems like he may not achieve his goals if he decides to stay at Spurs.
Leaving north London very much feels like the necessary next step in his development and his road to reach the very peak of the mountain in the world of football.
Spurs fans, do you think that Kane needs to leave Spurs to improve? Do you see him staying? Let us know down in the comments below!
