Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League hopes were burned down by a clinical performance from RB Leipzig on German soil and Jose Mourinho’s squad crashed out of the competitions in miserable fashion.
To say that Spurs were not really competitive in this fixture would probably be putting it quite mildly given the Mirror handed just one player as high as a 7/10 rating and a 3-0 final scoreline (4-0 on aggregate) also attests to that. Indeed, the London side looked poor back in London as well and Mourinho spent a lot of the time between the two clashes complaining about his injury situation.
For The Athletic’s Raphael Honigstein, Spurs have even lost that special something that made them likeable to neutrals, perhaps referring to some of the exciting football they played with young talents during the early part of the Mauricio Pochettino era.
Spurs used to be a likeable team for neutrals.

Unfortunately, it’s rather difficult to disagree with the revered journalist on this one as Mourinho’s squad look a long way off the outfit who almost won the Premier League in 2016 and reached the Champions League final last year.
Spurs fans, do you agree with Honigstein’s damning verdict on your team? Do you still believe in Mourinho’s project? Let us know down in the comments below!
