Rob Green joined BBC's Football Daily podcast and discussed Jose Mourinho's public slanting of Tanguy Ndombele and gave his verdict on the whole situation.

Mourinho is definitely the kind of manager who rarely minces words and will usually say whatever it is on his mind at the moment, as evident from his recent criticism of Tottenham Hotspur's big signing.

But Green believes this kind of treatment might be really harsh on a young player who just moved to a different league and a different country altogether.

Here's what he said on BBC's Football Daily podcast (11/3/2020): "Yes, he is a big signing. He's still a young lad moving over to London, coming to a strange place, having to settle. He has all these things and then for your manager to out you like that in public is a really difficult one. It will be a difficult one for him to take."

And it's really hard to disagree with Green on this verdict because even if Mourinho did have Ndombele's best interests in mind, this could've and should've been dealt with better than it was.

Maybe doing it behind the scenes would've been a win-win scenario for all parties involved and you have to wonder what kind of an impact will it now have on the 23-year-old's confidence.
