Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs keen to sign Marcus Edwards

Former Spurs wonderkid Marcus Edwards left Tottenham Hotspur for Vitória de Guimarães last summer.
Now, Tottenham seem to have changed their minds, as Edwards impressed in Portugal before football was suspended in response to the pandemic.
According to Desportivo de Guimarães via Diario Record, as relayed by @RickSpur, the Lilywhites are ready to battle Manchester United for the youngster this summer.
Both clubs will have to pay between €20-25m (at most £22m) to sign Edwards, but Spurs have an advantage as they will receive half of the profits if he is sold.
The 21-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder, has played 20 games in Liga NOS so far, scoring 5 goals, creating 4 assists, taking 1.7 shots per game, averaging 1.4 key passes, and completing 3.2 dribbles on average (WhoScored).
Who should Spurs sign this summer?
Marcus Edwards
Philippe Coutinho
His performances have attracted attention from a number of European clubs, and Vitória de Guimarães are set to make a huge profit, as he joined the club as a free agent.
Although Mauricio Pochettino compared him to Lionel Messi, he never really got a chance under the former boss, and was subsequently shipped out the door.
The report claims his contract does not include a release clause, which has put Vitoria in an excellent position to negotiate terms with the Premier League clubs.
However, Spurs are not in discussions at this stage, and whether or not Daniel Levy will splash the cash for the academy graduate remains to be seen.
Dele Alli has returned from his one-game ban, and Erik Lamela was one of the best players in the draw with Man United last week, so Levy may be reluctant to spend money on a position that is well covered at the moment.
