Tottenham Hotspur: These fans were left deflated by Paulo Dybala’s comment

Paulo Dybala has spoken about the feeling of being linked with a move away from Juventus, with Tottenham Hotspur being one of the teams he was supposedly going to move to, as reported by football.london.
Will Spurs finish in the top four?
Yes

No

He told Corriere della Sera, via Football Italia: “It wasn’t an easy summer. Hearing your name linked to every team and every place, where you don’t want to go, isn’t a nice thing.”
News of his comments have eventually filtered their way down to Spurs supporters, with Ricky Sans tweeting them out:
Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala has now claimed that it wasn’t a “nice thing” to see him linked with clubs:

This has left a number of those fans feeling deflated, with some having built up hope that the Argentinian would be making the move to North London.
With Christian Eriksen being linked with a move out of the club, whether that is in January or the summer, having someone of Dybala’s quality would have certainly helped fill the void left by the Dane.
This all follows a season in which Dybala scored 10 goals and got 4 assists in 30 starts and 9 substitute appearances across Serie A and the Champions League, as per WhoScored.
However, as one fan said, it would be pointless replacing one man who doesn’t want to be at the club with another one who feels a similar way.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the comment, including posts from deflated Spurs fans, can be seen below:
Not gonna say I don’t rate him now because I still do. But what would be the point of replacing someone who doesn’t want to be here with another who feels the same. We should go for Fernandes who’s cheaper and actually wanted to come.

It was good while it lasted. He joins the elite list of what could have been.
Accompanied by Damião, Berahino and Moutinho.

Right, well then I hope that’s a signal to those at the club that he’s exactly the kind of player we don’t want, other priorities like an entirely new defence are needed.

We’ll that’s that then.

Pretty disgusting statement.
