Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to become confident that their team will qualify for the Champions League next season after they secured three points, whilst their rivals dropped two.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side defeated a tough Stoke City side at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon and then watched Chelsea succumb to a 1-1 draw with London rivals West Ham United the following day. With the win, Spurs managed to extend the gap between them and fifth to ten points with just six games left to play.
Tottenham will be looking to improve their squad with new additions in the summer regardless of the position they finish and have already identified a bright talent from the Championship, according to reports.
The Sun is claiming Spurs are interested in Norwich City winger James Maddison after the 21-year-old has impressed since arriving at Carrow Road. The White Hart Lane outfit will be up against the likes of Leicester City and Huddersfield Town in a race for his signature, however, the lure of Champions League football could tempt him to join them in north London.
The locals in the Tavern will be excited with the prospect of signing Maddison in the summer, although a number of punters will be wary of how many attacking wide-men are already at the club. A move for the England Under-21 international could signal the end for the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela at White Hart Lane.
