Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to bring in a couple of world-class players in the summer, as they’ll look to assert their dominance on the European stage once again next season.
Indeed, Spurs have been dominant in the Premier League over the course of the current campaign as they remain on course for a European spot, and could even secure silverware in the FA Cup. But, it looks as if the London club are already looking at potential summer targets, as according to Spanish outlet Sport Tottenham have joined the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
Spurs are weighing up a move for Gomes ahead of next season as they’ll look to bolster their midfield, with Mauricio Pochettino’s eyes set firmly on securing the Premier League title.
Although, they could face competition from London rivals West Ham United in their pursuit of the Portuguese international, who already tried to sign the midfielder last summer. But, the deciding factor on where the Barcelona man may end up in the summer could come down to his buyout clause, which currently sits at €100 million as he is under contract until 2021.
Tottenham supporters will be delighted that the club are already looking to bring in world-class players in the summer, as this could help them challenge for silverware in the next campaign. And, Andre Gomes could bring a lot to Spurs’ current side after a number of successful seasons in Spain, as he continues to be watched by both London clubs.
