Mauricio Pochettino, alongside most of the Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern (as well as the Premier League as a whole, is seemingly a fan of Manuel Lanzini.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Spurs manager is monitoring the Argentine playmaker, in what would be a controversial move. Tottenham and West Ham contest one of the most fierce rivalries in the capital and moves between the two aren’t all that common,
Still, despite the fact that Spurs and the Irons don’t share the best of relationships, Pochettino is allegedly interested in the services of Lanzini, who is contracted to the Hammers until 2020. As you can imagine, the idea of stealing one of their rivals best players seriously excites our local Lillywhites.
There was considerable speculation during the summer regarding Lanzini’s potential departure, and he was continuously linked with a move to Liverpool, regarded as the perfect replacement for Coutinho.
The 24-year-old’s status as West Ham’s best player is unequivocal, and David Moyes will be keen to keep the club’s star player for the remainder of the season.
Lanzini is supremely talented and would fit into the Spurs team seamlessly. Throughout his time in east London, the Argentine playmaker has displayed his ability to score from open play or dead-ball situations. At the age of 24, he has yet to reach the best of his powers and could really develop his game under Pochettino.
