Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with how their season has gone so far, with Champions League football looking likely next year as they return to White Hart Lane.
The Spurs locals will be looking ahead to the summer recruitment plans of Mauricio Pochettino with a watchful eye and they could already be excited by some of the news reports coming out already.
The Northern Echo are claiming Tottenham are interested in signing Kenedy from Chelsea once his loan deal at Newcastle United finishes at the end of the season, despite the Magpies hoping they can turn it into a permanent deal. Indeed, Spurs have built a reputation on getting the best from young players and our local Lillywhites are dreaming about exactly what Pochettino could get out of Kenedy.
The Brazilian has impressed since joining Rafa Benitez’s side in January, contributing to the solid form the St. James’ Park outfit have managed to display since the start of 2018. Those performances have not gone unnoticed, with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all rumoured to be linked with a move for the Blue.
Spurs punters will be hoping they can convince the 22-year-old to join them at White Hart Lane next season and help them to compete for Premier League and European honours. However, the club could find it difficult to strike a deal with Chelsea for the winger because of the performances he has put in during his time with Newcastle.
If Chelsea would sell to a direct rival, it’d be a great deal.
