Tottenham must consider clever swoop for £17.1m-rated man to bring back Modric memories

Tottenham put in a very strong performance in their victory against Chelsea and the Spurs fans within the Transfer Tavern are very confident they will be witnessing Champions League football again next season.

Tottenham outclassed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and consequently, they have stretched the gap between the London rivals to eight points. If Spurs hope to take their game to the next level in their new stadium mind you, this summer will again be an important transfer window for Tottenham to strengthen their side.

Daniel Levy must be prepared to again spend big if he wants to see his club rise to the top of English football. It won’t be an easy task to identify the correct targets but us punters agree that a player who could bring a lot to Spurs is Inter Milan’s forgotten man Marcelo Brozovic, a midfielder valued at £17.10 million on Transfermarkt.

The 25-year-old has endured a frustrating season after seeing his game-time limited. Even so, throughout this season, Brozovic has scored 3 goals and has 5 assists thus far as he targets more time on the pitch for the remainder of the campaign. The Croatian midfielder can play in a number of positions which makes him a player that needs to be brought. Although his favoured position is attacking midfield, he can also play as a central midfielder or as a left-midfielder.

Indeed, our local Lillywhites certainly have some fond memories of Croatian midfielders in N17, with Luka Modric proving to be one of their best ever players.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Spurs would be smart to take advantage of a player who has a lot of quality and wants to play football. Marcelo Brozovic isn’t a player who seemingly demands a huge transfer fee but his ability on the pitch is something Tottenham are crying out for.
