Tottenham take on RB Leipzig tonight in the first knockout round of this season's Champions League, and German football expert Raphael Honigstein believes the north London club could have an advantage in one area.

Even though they are currently flying high in the Bundesliga, sitting just one point behind first place, Julian Nagelsmann's side are still a fairly inexperienced one. They have an average squad age of just 23.5 years, according to Transfermarkt, and are making their debut at this stage of the competition, something Honigstein touched on.

Speaking on The Totally Football Show podcast (18/02/2020), Honigstein said: "Leipzig are exciting but also very inexperienced at this level. This is their first ever knockout in the Champions League and the age structure and the sort of lack of experience might be telling so hard one to call that one."

Inexperienced or not, this is surely going to be a hard fixture for Jose Mourinho's men. As already mentioned, Leipzig are flourishing in the Bundesliga this term, with Timo Werner largely to thank.

The German has been in world-class form, scoring 20 goals in German football's top division and three in Europe's elite club competition. If the Premier League outfit have any hope of progressing into the next round, then they have to stop him.
