Tottenham are the only Premier League club not to make a signing this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino is yet to open his chequebook in the summer window with just three days remaining before business concludes. The Argentine committed his future to the club by penning a new deal and has focused on tying key players to the club. Harry Kane, Davinson Sanchez and Christian Eriksen have also put pen-to-paper on new contracts.

With deadline day just around the corner, Spurs may be active at the final hour. Toby Alderweireld is nearing a £60m switch to Manchester United, according to reports, which could force Pochettino into action. Belgian midfielder, Mousa Dembele, could also leave the club if Inter Milan rekindle their interest after losing out in the race to sign Arturo Vidal.

To replace him, Spurs should make a move for Chelsea outcast – Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old was forced out on loan last season to Crystal Palace. He impressed during his 24 appearances where he scored twice and picked up three assists. His showings earned him a spot in England’s World Cup squad where he made four appearances in their run to the semi-final.

He still hasn’t earned a place in the Chelsea first-team and has stressed he wants to play Premier League football again next season. With that in mind, Tottenham should take advantage and bring him to North London.

Loftus-Cheek is a one-of-a-kind footballer – he has a huge frame but is blessed with excellent technical ability. He averaged 1.6 successful dribbles per game in the Premier League last season; only Dele Alli managed more in the entire Tottenham squad (WhoScored).

His arrival would help Tottenham fans quickly forget about Dembele.
