Tottenham have faced a tricky few weeks in the league and Champions League, with injuries and lack of form aplenty.
Spurs started the season with a lot of energy and passion to enjoy a successful season but quickly they have realised still they’re a long way from challenging the bigger teams in world football as they desperately aim to win some silverware.
Already it seems like a sensible idea that they delve into the transfer market, possibly eyeing a centre-back seeing as soon their back-line could be reduced even more with injuries and contracts expiring.
A player of RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate’s quality would be a brilliant idea for Tottenham should he continue to grow as a top player.
Konate, (who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt) is potentially the next big thing to come through in Germany, judging by the form he has been showing for RB Leipzig.
Having already made 12 appearances this season, the 19-year-old has endured an action-packed start to the season and held his own exceptionally well.
The way things are progressing so quickly, there is no reason not to suggest that Ibrahima Konate couldn’t replace Alderwerield or Vertonghen if either were to leave at any point soon.
The young star made 16 appearances in the Bundesliga last season but already this campaign has started to develop into a talented defender who is quick of the mark to avoid defensive mistakes and is particularly good in the air, with his significant height helping with that.
Apart from Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth, Tottenham don’t have anymore back-up and that could be vitally important this season with all the football the team are set to be playing, so that makes the signing of Konate especially important.
