Tottenham should make £19.8m-rated La Liga star their new stadium’s crown jewel this summer

Tottenham fans here in the Tavern are tirelessly awaiting the chance to get into their brand new stadium. Excited about their move to a brand spanking new home, the players who play on that pitch still could do with some improvements if their team is to be equally as good.

Players such as Moussa Sissoko and Fernando Llorente both spring to mind when thinking of where Tottenham need to improve. One player who is similarly capable of being deployed in a variety of positions is Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, valued at £19.80 million on Transfermarkt. Gomes has the tactical nous to play out wide on both flanks but mainly prefers a central midfielder role, allowing Pochettino a sense of variety should he arrive.

The Euro 2016 winner seems to be a forgotten and unpopular face in Barcelona after the 24-year-old has found it hard to prove his fairly big money transfer fee from Valencia just under two years ago. Gomes has made 25 appearances for Barcelona this season but has only added 1 assist during that time and looks lost amid their vast array of engine room talent.

Despite the unsuccessful transition to Barca, Andre Gomes still has a lot to offer and Tottenham could be one of many teams to benefit from his signature. His passing ability is still up their with the best and having him in the Premier League would allow Tottenham to look a lot stronger.

Landlords thoughts:

Andre Gomes needs to leave Barcelona before his reputation is tarnished further. The Portuguese international could turn to the Premier League and Tottenham in particular to kick-start his career again before it’s too late. He obviously has talent and Spurs could find this out by making him just one of many summer additions this coming window.

Thoughts Spurs fans – Is Andre Gomes a player you need?
