Tottenham having started so well struck fear into the top teams in the Premier League but after losing three games in succession, it may be a case of same old, same old for Spurs.
Despite having a strong starting line-up something just isn’t working for Tottenham this season and that is cause for concern. Mauricio Pochettino is a well-established manager with quality written all over him but if he doesn’t get his team in shape and in line to win some silverware soon, who knows where Tottenham could end up.
Panic this early would be unjust but should they arrive at January in a predicament, they need to spend and bring in a number of talented players who not necessarily jump straight into the starting line-up but offer great squad depth for the number of competitions Spurs find themselves in.
It would be an exceptionally hard transfer to pull off but signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea would be an eye-catching steel and a great decision.
Loftus-Cheek, (who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt) has struggled to get a grip on first-team action this season and may decide a move elsewhere better suits him. In fact so far, Loftus-Cheek has had to settle for just 33 minutes of Premier League football and even though the competition for places at Chelsea is thick, the England man deserves to be playing week in, week out.
The 22-year-old was kept at Chelsea this season on the back of terrific performances for Crystal Palace and England over the course of last season.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a versatile midfielder that would improve on Tottenham’s quality in the middle of the park and despite it being a hard transfer to pull off, they have to try and then reap the rewards.
