What a disappointing night for Spurs, but they could reach more finals like Saturday’s if they sign Ryan & Steven Sessegnon this summer. That's the only way to look at it, right? The start of something special, rather than the end of something great.

Indeed, Football Insider claimed at the start of the month that Mauricio Pochettino is aiming for a double swoop for the Fulham duo, who he believes could have a long-term future at the club. They also reported the club are confident of landing Ryan after having made a £20m bid.

Ryan, the more established of the twin brothers, has played 35 times in the Premier League this season. While it's been a difficult campaign on the banks of the River Thames for the Cottagers, he’s shown glimpses of his Championship form in the country’s top division, and that’ll excite Spurs.

To be fair, many of Fulham's problems have been systemic this season, making it hard for the youngster to really shine. Blaming him for their struggles is the worst of the hot takes you could possibly imagine.

His brother, Steven, has played nine times in the league for Fulham’s youth team and plays on the opposite side to Ryan as a right-back. At 19-years-old the two have an exciting future ahead of them so it’d be a perfect time to bring them to White Hart Lane.

Nothing can be worse than Kieran Trippier, after all.

Ryan, alone, is rated at £31.5m on Transfermarkt, so he won’t be cheap, but this could be a great long-term signing. Excitingly, Pochettino’s track record proves he’s the perfect man to transform the two youngsters into Champions League-quality stars.

Spurs need to continue to invest in the next generation and both Ryan and Steven would be an asset for the club for years to come. They could provide stability on both sides of the pitch and help Spurs finally win that Premier League title.
