Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are certainly hoping that their side is going to do some good business in the summer transfer window.
The men from White Hart Lane have had a good couple of years under Mauricio Pochettino but they do need to start winning things and that has to be achieved sooner rather than later.
Indeed, if they can’t win some silverware soon the men from White Hart Lane could see their best players begin to want out and, though that doesn’t appear imminent, Christian Eriksen has certainly hinted he’d consider a move away.
Certainly, like most players he would consider a move away if he feels he has a better chance of winning a league or cup and that is what he told Ekstra Bladet – via The Independent.
Indeed, the former Ajax midfielder said – particularly about a move to Barcelona:
“There are always rumours about footballers, but Barcelona are a great club and I don’t think there are many who say no to Barcelona.
“In the future I see myself at the highest level. That’s what I dream about. It can be in about two to three years. It may be at another club or it could be Tottenham if we have come all the way up.”
This, though not a big ‘I want out’ statement, should serve as a reminder to Spurs that they need to win something soon if they want to progress.
If they don’t, however, players like Eriksen could be on their way out.
