If there was one player Tottenham fans would rather not see get their name of the scoresheet, it would have been Christian Eriksen, yet that’s exactly what happened against Red Star Belgrade.

The Danish international scored the fourth and final goal of the evening for Spurs in what was to be a big 4-0 win for the north London side (per BBC Sport), yet with Eriksen’s future at Tottenham surrounded in so much uncertainty, supporters in recent months have turned on the 27-year-old playmaker.
Which is why some fans on social media were not too pleased to see the former Ajax star add his name onto the scoresheet against Red Star, with a few supporters hoping that VAR ruled Eriksen’s goal off whilst others suggested that other forces were at work that allowed the attacking midfielder to leave his mark on the game.
Could James Maddison replace Christian Eriksen?
