Tottenham Hotspur are still having to put in the hard graft on the training pitch.
Well, all but a few men are anyways.
According to Football.London, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josh Onomah and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou are not as they have been on loan with other clubs this season, which makes their absence rather understandable.
However, Vincent Janssen is not with the squad training either and has been sent on his holidays already (lucky guy – depending on the way you look at it we guess).
Admittedly, the Dutch forward is not able to take part in the Champions League final because of his ineligibility, however, there is no reason as to why he can not train with them.
Mauricio Pochetino could surely still have used him in his preparations? There are no rules stating that a player can not help in with sessions.
The Argentine has had to use a number of players from his Under-23 squad as he lacks the numbers and depth on the training pitch.
Although Janssen’s place in the squad was never really assured after a couple of disaster seasons, it would seem that his time is all-but-over in north London now.
The Dutch striker was utilised towards the backend of the campaign a handful of times and showed that he was willing to work hard for the team.
However, with the player likely being prepared to find his passport and soak in the hot summer’s sun somewhere exotic (or maybe he prefers a cold holiday?) whilst his team-mates are sweating it out and working hard to lift the Champions League trophy in Madrid, it would seem Tottenham have seen the last of him.
Tottenham fans, what do you make of Janssen being sent on holiday? Could he not have played a role in the preparations for the club? Let us know what you think below!
