As the summer transfer window nears it’s opening once again, Tottenham will be sure to delve into the market to snipe some more bargains.
The future of Danny Rose at the club has been uncertain throughout this long Premier League season but with the transfer window soon to be on the horizon, should Tottenham cash in and look for an alternative?
Well, us punters at the bar think so. Although Danny Rose is a terrific left-back on his day, the attitude and injury problems are starting to outweigh the good things he has done for the club.
A player equally on the fringes at his team is Manchester United’s Daley Blind. Don’t get us wrong, we aren’t suggesting that Daley Blind is better than Rose but the Dutchman has a distinct quality – versatility. Tottenham have a thin squad and the addition of a player who could be deployed in three different positions, (left-back, centre-back and central-midfield) seems desirable to us.
Although Daley Blind is valued at £18.00 million on Transfermarkt, he’s into his last year as of his contract and doesn’t seem to have a natural role in Jose Mourinho’s team. Our punters have had a heated debate but eventually, we came to the conclusion that bringing Daley Blind to Spurs in what could be a cut-price deal would be a really good bit of business.
Indeed, Blind has been swept aside by manager Jose Mourinho and Tottenham could easily amend his confidence and get him playing at his full potential once again. Excellent on the ball, he’d help Spurs take the sting out of games by keeping possession, as well as slot into a number of different positions.
Whether he is a direct replacement for Danny Rose or a player brought in to fill the squad, even the landlord agrees that he could be a good signing for Tottenham.
