The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited for the summer transfer window as they know it’s a hugely important one if they want a quality team to be playing in their new world-class stadium.
This season has been surprisingly successful for Spurs, considering the duration of the campaign has been spent at Wembley Stadium, a traditionally bad place for Tottenham where they weren’t capable of winning. That has since been amended and their early season curse over the national stadium has been lifted after a number of important victories there.
Tottenham will look to spend in the transfer window once again this summer and our punters want a particular interest in signings to be on players for the future, with Spurs well aware of some ageing players within their ranks.
A young ‘keeper who is the hot prospect around the world right now is Alban Lafont, a Frenchman who is valued at £16.20 million on Transfermarkt despite being just 19-years-old. Tottenham’s current shot-stopper Hugo Lloris has endured a mixed campaign with him recently been criticised for his mistakes. Elsewhere, No.2 ‘keeper Michel Vorm is now 34 and his contract expires at the end of the season, with the signing of Lafont seemingly written in the stars.
Tottenham will surely have to beat off a lot of interest surrounding the French keeper but if they’re serious about future success, he is the calibre of young talent Spurs simply need in their ranks.
Lafont is Toulouse’s No.1 and has been ever since he was 17. The Frenchman is just short of 100 appearances for the club and that is a remarkable figure considering the keeper is only 19. With 12 clean sheets already this season, Tottenham must do all they can to buy Alban Lafont.
