Tottenham would do well to sign Joachim Andersen this summer - Tottenham

Tottenham have managed to squeeze themselves back in contention for the Premier League and Champions League.

Thanks to the brilliant performances from their star – and not so star – players without a number of their most valuable assets, Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t made complaints and simply got on with his job as he vows to improve Tottenham.

Tottenham have a lot of ground to make up if they want to win the Premier League – five points – yet crazier things have happened in English football.

They have the right quality of players to do it, so really, what’s stopping them?

It remains an unlikely task but Tottenham know with the current group of players, they will be in and around the top four.

If they want to achieve more, they have to spend wisely in order to better their squad this summer, something a centre-back like Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen could do.

Andersen, (who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt) has come on leaps and bounds this season, hence why so many teams have now taken an interest in the Denmark U21 star.

The 22-year-old has become an integral part in Sampdoria’s defence, shown by the nine clean-sheets he has helped keep in his 25 appearances this season.

Tottenham aren’t weak nor short of options at centre-back but all the best teams have a very strong squad, of which Joachim Andersen could help build at Tottenham.

Even though he is still young, Tottenham are a side building for the future and with Andersen potentially joining the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth, the future in defence at least looks to be in capable hands.

If they were having doubts about signing Joachim Andersen, having seen he can also be deployed in a defensive-midfield role may change their mind as well.
