Tottenham fans here in the Tavern are looking to improve on the weekend’s dramatic draw with Liverpool, as a European spot is being eyed up for next season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men can receive high praise for their efforts and attitude during yesterday’s nail biting 2-2 draw at Anfield, as a late Harry Kane penalty caused for a whole load of controversy on Merseyside. However, yesterday news emerged in relation to the future of one Spurs player, as a move away from Wembley Stadium is bordering on inevitable. As according to reports from Calcio Mercato, Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele continues to be monitored by Italian giants AC Milan.
The Belgian international continues to live an uncertain future in North London as Mauricio Pochettino continues to search for a long-term successor. And, with Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko already in their ranks, it doesn’t look like the Argentine will hesitate to make swift moves in seeking a replacement.
Mousa Dembele has been a loyal servant to Spurs over the years with performances last season looking worthy of a future with the club. However, times have changed since then with the 30-year-old’s injury towards the start of the season seeing young prodigy Harry Winks take his place, a move that’s spelt trouble for the Belgian ever since making his return to the side. And, with underlying interest from AC Milan continuing to link him with a move away, perhaps it’s likely that the Lilywhites will take up the option of a sale with his contract set to run out next summer.
The Belgian has established himself as a quality Premier League player over the years, but his time in North London looks to be coming to an end after some disappointing performances this season. And, with Spurs looking to prepare for a potential title push next season after their brilliance at the start of the current, perhaps he won’t be a part of their plans moving forward.
