Tottenham Hotspur were the only club not to buy a single player this summer.
Argentinian manager Mauricio Pochetinno has shown a lot of trust in his players by not moving to add to his squad in the summer window.
Tottenham, moving into a new stadium that holds over 62,000, will be a club with ambitions of finally winning some silverware under Pochetinno this season. Spurs have come close in recent seasons, but surely it is time they got over the line and actually won some silverware. If they fail to do so, they may lose some key members of this very talented squad.
Poch has always been a manager happy to give young players a chance. If he continues this trend, he may unearth a talent who would be like a new signing for the Lilywhites.
Here are two Tottenham youngsters who may just make the step up this season…
Tashan Oakley-Boothe has been a key player in Englands youth set-ups. He is a powerhouse midfielder who is very tidy on the ball. Alongside the talents Tottenham have in midfield, the 18-year-old would quickly improve.
He made his debut for the Lilywhites last season in the League Cup against Barnsley.
Having not loaned him out, this could well be a sign Pochetinno does want to use Oakley-Boothe more this season.
The 19-year-old possesses a lot of pace and a keen eye for goal.
His opportunities have been limited at White Hart Lane, mainly due to the incredible form of Golden Boot winner Harry Kane.
With just Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente as senior strikers, it makes sense to put some faith in the young Kazaiah Sterling. He has a strong goal-scoring record with the England youth sides and, as a result, should be handed a chance at first-team level.
