Jose Mourinho already seems to be preparing for next season, with reports linking Tottenham with a move for Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
According to Sky Sports, Kondogbia, who has caught the attention of Spurs’ chief scout Steve Hitchen, is a possible midfield target for the summer as Mourinho looks to bolster his options in the middle of the park.
It remains to be seen how much the 27-year-old would cost, but Transfermarkt have given him a market valuation of £25.2m. It is slightly down from his June 2019 valuation of £27m, which is strange.
Kondogbia has performed for Valencia in that engine room this season, constantly making tackles and interceptions. In La Liga, he is averaging 2.4 tackles and 2.2 interceptions per game (via WhoScored). When it comes to the latter, no one in Albert Celades’ squad is making more.
How much is Geoffrey Kondogbia worth?
£25m or more
Less than £25m
Considering that, it would not be a surprise to see Tottenham move for Kondogbia when the transfer window opens, which could spell bad news for Ndombele.
Ultimately, even with Kondogbia’s market valuation weirdly on the slide, he could still be a very good signing for Spurs in the summer.
