Tottenham fans here in the Tavern are hoping to bring in a few additions in the summer transfer window, with evident improvements still needing to be made.
Indeed, Spurs looked good value for money in yesterday’s victory over London rivals Crystal Palace, as a last-gasp winner from Harry Kane saw Mauricio Pochettino’s side bring the spoils back to North London. Although, with there still being some reinforcements needed in attacking areas, it appears that Tottenham may struggle to tie down a deal for one of their January targets, as according to reports in the Sun, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have launched bids for Malcom.
Spurs pushed to bring the Brazilian to North London last month but were told he was going nowhere, something that’s now seen the German giants steal a march on the Premier League club. Indeed, Bayern Munich entered the race for the winger after making an offer to French side Bordeaux last week, while fellow German side Dortmund are still trying to find a replacement for summer departure Ousmane Dembele.
Of course, Pochettino opted to secure the services of former Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura in the January transfer window, after talks with Malcom were seemingly going nowhere. But, they may not be entirely out of the picture despite the interest submitted by both German clubs, as the French outfit are demanding over £50 million for the South American.
The dominant figure of Bayern Munich joining the race for Malcom could prove costly, as the German giants often get their way with headline transfers in the past. But, our local residents are still filled with a slight glimmer of hope, as Pochettino could look to make a statement of intent by splashing the cash in the summer transfer window.
