Tottenham fans have been responding to a story by the Evening Standard that the club’s big Spanish striker, Fernando Llorente, is set to move away from Hotspur Way in summer after Erik Lamela came off the bench ahead of the Spaniard for the injured Harry Kane on Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth.
Llorente has failed to impress at Tottenham since joining the club last summer following his prolific season with Swansea that saw him bag 15 Premier League goals with the Welsh side. The former Juventus target man was overlooked on Sunday when Harry Kane came off midway through the first half with injury as Spurs trailed the home side 1-0. Instead, Mauricio Pochettino opted to have make-shift striker, Heung-Min Son lead the line as he brought on Erik Lamela to fill Son’s original spot in midfield.
Spurs fans haven’t had a chance to warm themselves to Fernando Llorente since his move as he’s largely been limited to appearances in the domestic cups. However, he recently scored a 12-minute perfect hat-trick as Spurs beat Rochdale 6-1 at Wembley. Tottenham fans will be left wondering whether or not Llorente could’ve built on his FA Cup hat-trick as inconsistent game time looks to ultimately put an end to his career in North London.
Here’s our resident Lilywhites’ verdict:
Well that was quick

Always sad to see such a good professional like him go. He did wasted his chances but still. I like him a lot tbh.

I think we just have to accept that the backup striker has to be someone like Son who can also play winger. It seems that's the only way to keep a quality player behind HK content.

Wouldn't mind Rondon as WBA are looking like they're going to get relegated

Son is more of a forward than him. So we seriously need to find a decent replacement who can actually give Kane a rest
