Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been beside themselves with excitement this morning as a story in The Mirror stating that Pochettino’s Spurs are readying a bid for Borussia Dortmund’s wing-wizard, Marco Reus. The rumour mill’s been churning since the 28-year-old has reportedly been stalling on signing a new deal with the Bundesliga’s second place club.
Fans of Spurs across the world will be both shocked and delighted at their clubs apparent ambition in the transfer window, after signing Lucas Moura from PSG in January for a reported £25.56 million. If Spurs’ interest in Reus is genuine then fans have reason to be excited, the German has scored 58 Bundesliga goals for Dortmund since joining in the summer of 2012 despite a number of injuries more recently including a ruptured cruciate ligament that saw him miss all of the clubs Champions League campaign this season.
Liverpool are also supposedly interested in signing the player and boast manager Jurgen Klopp as a bargaining tool as Reus played under Klopp at Dortmund before the eccentric gaffer became Liverpool’s head coach. The pair reached the Champions League final back in the 2012/13 season, only to lose 2-1 at Wembley to an all-conquering Bayern Munich side.
Despite his injury, Reus seems to be back to his best, scoring in his last two games in the Bundesliga to gain his side a 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach and a 1-1 stalemate with Augsburg.
Here’s what the giddy Spurs fans are saying!

What a signing this would be! But I doubt we'd agree on wages and he seems to always be injured.

Quality player but far to many serious injuries over the last few seasons not the player he was!
