Tottenham are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements to lessen the goalscoring burden on Harry Kane.

Spurs struck lucky with the England international after years trying to find their ideal number nine. Kane has been a revelation and blossomed into one of the finest strikers in the world during his time under Mauricio Pochettino. The World Cup Golden Boot winner can fire Spurs to the title, but the club must do more to lower the goal scoring expectation on his shoulders.

The Lilywhites are yet to find a suitable back up for their star striker in the attack. Both Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente have failed to impress after making the switch to North London leaving Pochettino with no quality alternative up front. Signing a striker in January could prove to be a smart move by the Argentine.

One man who should be on their shortlist is Sevilla forward – Wissam Ben Yedder. Valued at £25.2m by Transfermarkt, the French striker joined the Spaniards back in 2016 after a tremendous spell of form with Toulouse. After initially struggling in La Liga, Ben Yedder has finally found his feet, scoring 22 goals in all competitions last season. The 28-year-old has continued his excellent form in the new campaign, finding the back of the net eight times already this season.

Comfortable on either foot, Ben Yedder possesses excellent technical ability which keeps defenders guessing and allows him to get shots on goal. The Frenchman can also be deployed behind the striker enabling Pochettino to rest Christian Eriksen and add another dimension to the Spurs forward line.

Indeed, he's already silenced Old Trafford once after all, knocking Manchester United out of the Champions League earlier this year.

Ben Yedder has proven he can be a natural goal scorer in a difficult division meaning there should be no issues adapting to life in the Premier League. His added spark could be the catalyst for a charge up the table for Tottenham.
