World Cup winner set for manager talks as Tottenham consider swoop

Much of the talk amongst the Tottenham fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern has largely centred around just how the club will go about keeping their very best players over the course of the summer.

So, imagine the delight amongst our local Lillywhites following reports in the Independent touting them with a move for a World Cup-winning defender. Indeed, those from Hotspur Way are understood to retain an interest in Borussia Dortmund Matthias Ginter, with Mauricio Pochettino reportedly eager to reshuffle his pack.

Kyle Walker has been strongly linked with an exit and the 23-year-old Borussia Dortmund star would be a versatile option to replace him. Despite his strong standing in the Bundesliga, it’s thought the former Freiburg man would be available for around £15m.

Hoffenheim are understood to be ready to rival Spurs for his signature, with the player himself said to be heading for talks with Peter Bozs. Though Ginter is believed to be ready to move, it’s said he will talk to his new manager in order to figure out his plans for him at the Westfalenstadion.

Though losing Walker would undoubtedly be a blow, the idea of seeing a World Cup winner arrive in north London has gone down a storm amongst our locals.
