Worrying transfer news for Spurs, Levy may not be able to turn down move

Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a successful season this term but they’re expressing their concerns ahead of the summer transfer window.

The fans are under no illusions that they will face a battle to keep hold of their star-men this summer and they’ve become worried following comments from a close ally of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who claims a stunning move is being plotted by the Citizens.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Spanish World Cup legend Xavi stated that Guardiola is eyeing English recruits this summer and a world-record bid for two-time PFA Young Player of the Year Dele Alli is being considered – with the report suggesting it would be a world-record deal.

“I speak with Pep, and I know he thinks it is important to sign English players. I am sure in the summer he will look also across Europe for players to improve the squad, but also I expect him to look in The Premier League as well.”

“At the moment the best English player there is and also one of the best in Europe is Dele Alli. We are looking at a very special player.”

“Technically he is the sort of player that Pep likes, the sort of player that suits the style of game that Pep likes his teams to play. I am sure it is not going to be a player that Tottenham will want to let go, but we know Manchester City have big resources.”

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is known to be a shrewd negotiator and will not let Alli leave on the cheap, but it may be difficult to turn down a world-record fee for the England international.

However, our landlord believes Alli won’t leave this summer as Spurs are on the rise, although he feels an exit could occur after next summer’s World Cup.

Is there any chance of Alli leaving Spurs this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
