The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted to see Mauricio Pochettino’s men smash Everton over the course of the weekend and their fourth goal, in particular, thrilled those propping up our bar.
Indeed, the interplay between the likes of Dele Alli, Son and Christian Eriksen created one of the best team goals of the weekend and our north London locals couldn’t be happier. Well, until they read reports to have emerged over in Italy.
According to Calciomercato, the aforementioned Eriksen is on the radar of Serie A giants, Juventus. One of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League, the former Ajax man has become a key part of Spurs’ squad, though the Old Lady are believed to be keen on a move for him.
The Turin titans are understood to be tracking an attacking midfielder of high quality, with Eriksen believed to be of big interest, along with north London rival, Mesut Ozil. As you can imagine, the Tottenham fans who frequent in their droves would hate to lose perhaps the only truly successful signing of the now infamous 2013 splurge after Gareth Bale’s departure.
Juventus will get a chance to watch Eriksen close up when the two sides meet in the Champions League next month, though it’s already easy to see why they are reportedly interested in a move for him. While the Premier League money may be more tempting to a player than even Juventus these days, Daniel Levy’s strict wage structure could play a huge factor on whether Eriksen stays.
