The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to moving into their new stadium after a peculiar season at Wembley Stadium.
Excitement is building among the resident Lilywhites propping up our bar as the anticipation for their stadium move intensifies, and recent reports have given them further reason to feel optimistic about the future. According to sources at Calcio Insider, Tottenham are ready to match Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for their highly sought-after wonderkid, namely Christian Pulisic.
The America international who has already scored 9 goals for his country is regarded as one of, if not the most promising attacking midfielder in Europe, so it’s likely Spurs will face stiff competition for his signature this summer. However, they must do everything in their power to win the race for his signature, as his arrival could make Tottenham’s front-three the most devastating trio in English football next season.
Liverpool’s fluid front-three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah have been the most recognisable combination of players to tear up the top-flight this season, but the real test of their quality will arrive next season when they must prove they can emulate their performances season after season.
Tottenham’s acquisition of Pulisic could serve to knock Liverpool’s attacking trio off their perch, especially considering the Lilywhites will have extra motivation to impress within the electric atmosphere that their new home ground promises to provide.
With Harry Kane operating through the centre and Heung-min Son attacking from the left, Spurs would be set for a footballing treat next season with Pulisic playing on the right side of the front-three.
At 19-years-of-age, Pulisic still has plenty of developing to do, but considering Pochettino’s impressive track record with young players, Dortmund’s crown jewel would be well-placed to realise the full extent of his potential in North-London.
Liverpool will certainly be hoping that their front-three will continue their success from the current season into the Champions League final and then into the new campaign, but Pulisic’s transfer to Tottenham could signal the beginning of the formation of a new iconic trio in the Premier League.
