Tottenham’s Heung-min Son has sent Twitter into raptures

Son Heung-min has been a figure of deep interest for Tottenham supporters and neutrals alike in recent weeks due to the incredibly peculiar situation he found himself in as a South Korean national.

Indeed, Son was faced with a simple scenario: win a gold medal at the Asian Games with South Korea or return to his country to complete two years of mandatory military service.

South Korea’s 2-1 victory over Japan in the final of the Asian Games earned Son the exemption which both he and the entirety of Tottenham Football Club were praying for, but his relentless schedule continued yesterday as he returned to the national squad to face Chile in a friendly fixture.

But if Son (valued at £45 million by Transfermarkt) was feeling the physical effects of playing in the Asian Games he certainly wasn’t showing it on the field of play.

Although the game ultimately finished 0-0, there was one moment of outrageous flair for supporters to salivate over.

With less than 3 minutes on the clock, Son beat Arturo Vidal to a loose ball and skipped past him with a deft touch before producing a mouthwatering piece of skill to nutmeg the onrushing Diego Valdes.

It was a moment of pure genius from the Tottenham ace and there’s no doubt the viral video will have Spurs fans begging for Son to return to Premier League action against Liverpool on Saturday.

Here’s what fans on Twitter have had to say about Son’s nutmeg…
