Tottenham’s new stadium move will be ruined if £72m-rated star completes huge Serie A switch

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to moving into a new stadium which promises to be a genuine footballing cathedral.

The Lilywhites faithful propping up our bar have been delighted with the progress made by their club in recent years, especially since Mauricio Pochettino joined the club. Tottenham have established themselves as a solid top-four club without investing astronomical sums of money into their squad whilst the vast majority of their rivals have splashed the cash.

And after years of speculation and planning, Tottenham will lay a huge foundation for future success by moving into a new stadium which is expected to be one of the most atmospheric and innovative architectural designs in world football. Naturally, the hype surrounding the move is huge in North London, but Pochettino must ensure that he keeps all of his best players at the club to ensure the transition is both smooth and successful.

However, the Argentine will undoubtedly face a tough task this summer in the transfer market as offers arrive for the club’s most talented players. The likes of Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele have been heavily linked with transfers away from the club, but recent reports suggest that Christian Eriksen (valued at £72 million by Transfermarkt) could also be on his way out this summer.

According to the Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Juventus are planning for a potential future without their midfield general Miralem Pjanic and they have identified Eriksen as an ideal replacement if they are forced to accept a huge offer for the Bosnian this summer.

The Tottenham supporters should not be overly concerned just yet as the Old Lady’s interest in Eriksen appears to rest on Pjanic’s future which is not in major doubt at this moment in time, however, Pochettino should be wary of interest from outside the club and do everything he can to secure his long-term future in the coming weeks.

It goes without saying that Eriksen is an indispensible talent for the club who would be almost impossible to replace, so securing his long-term future should be an immediate priority.

Tottenham’s stadium move could represent the final piece in the jigsaw in Pochettino’s hunt for his first trophy with the club, but Eriksen’s departure would undoubtedly put a huge dent in his aspirations if Juventus eventually come calling for the great Dane’s signature.
