Tottenham have had a slow start to the summer, but that could all change over the course of the next month. As pre-season starts to begin, and the World Cup reaches its climax, it's safe to say that Tottenham will likely be busy in the coming weeks. Last season wasn't perfect for Mauricio Pochetitno, and so he'll be keen to that ensure improvements are made this summer.

This July is arguably more important than ever before, given that the summer window closes sooner than usual. As such, August is a month that no longer offers an extra few weeks to add some quality. Instead, the weeks are already counting down.

It makes sense, then, for the club to get the bulk of their business done in July.

But what will Spurs be looking to do? And what, if Pochettino gets his way, will July look like?

Let's take a look...

Christian Pulisic Arrives

Christian Pulisic has grabbed a lot of headlines in recent years, and that's with good reason.

The American is one of the most exciting young players currently in Europe, and he has dazzled the Bundesliga with his brilliant technique, passing and goalscoring.

According to Kicker (via the Sun), Tottenham have launched a bid for him, and it would be remarkable if they're able to pull a move for him off.

He'd help transform an attack that could do with a little more love.

Harry Kane Gets A Partner

Harry Kane is sensational, but he can't do it alone.

Bringing in a second option is necessary this summer, given the struggles of Fernando Llorente.

Kane can't be expected to do it all himself, and so if Mauricio Pochettino really wants to build for the future, he needs to take the load off of his main man.

Defensive Change

Toby Alderrweireld has yet to sign a new deal at Tottenham, and so could he be facing the exit door?

It still seems likely that that will be the case, and so bringing in another defender should also be on the agenda. This uncertainty isn't doing anyone any favours, and so it needs to be a priority for the club.

Bringing in a defender quickly is very important in particular, as it means they'll get a chance to adjust before the season starts.
