Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United will meet at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the lunchtime kickoff.
Spurs will be looking to put a miserable week behind them after being dumped out of both domestic cups whilst The Magpies will have a contrasting emotion heading into the game following an impressive win against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino and Rafa Benitez have cut disappointed figures with certain things at their clubs in recent months, but both appear happy to remain in the dugout for as long as possible.
But, in this transfer battle, who is the better manager?
Pochettino arrived at White Hart Lane in 2014 after a successful stint with Southampton and has continued to impress with the London outfit making Daniel Levy’s decision to bring him to north London extremely clever.
The Argentine has managed to give Tottenham three consecutive top-four finishes in the Premier League and has managed to get a number of stars to emerge throughout the team, with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli immediately springing to mind.
His ability to get the best out of players, as well as the finishes he manages to achieve with Tottenham have put his name in the frame for some of the football world’s biggest jobs, with Manchester United having been linked heavily recently.
However, there is one thing that has continued to haunt his name when discussed about how good he is as a manager – his lack of a trophy. Spurs appear to have become a side of ‘nearly men’ with the north London outfit crashing out of competitions at the final hurdle, making that wait for a trophy continue.

The Spaniard was brought to St. James’ Park by Mike Ashley in the Spring of 2016 to initially try and save Newcastle from Premier League relegation – something he did not do.
However, he remained with the club and got them back to the top-flight immediately by winning the Championship and then kept them in the division on a tight budget following an impressive run of form in the second half of the campaign – something they could look to replicate this year as well.
Benitez’s future at Newcastle is never far from doubt given the lack of financial backing he has had since being the manager, although the current January window could see him get some of his targets finally through the door.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea boss has tasted success before and he appears to have been Ashley’s smartest move ever since being the owner of The Magpies.

Pochettino has continued to excel at Tottenham as their manager and has continued to take them to the next level. However, there will be doubts that the club can finally break into the final stage and be genuine title winners.
Although Benitez is unlikely to have the opportunity to win silverware with Newcastle, the Spaniard has managed to achieve some rather extraordinary things with the group of players he has in comparison to the Argentine at Spurs.
However, both Ashley and Levy managed to make extremely clever decisions when appointing the men to lead their respective clubs and make this battle a respectable draw.
