The attention has once again turned to Liverpool inside the Football Transfer Tavern, with Charles Perrin of the Daily Express dropping by to give the latest update on another of the Reds’ summer targets.
FC Twente midfielder Nacer Chadli is reportedly ready to turn down a move to Shakhtar Dontesk, in hope that a move to the Premier League will materialise.
The midfielder was an integral part of the FC Twente team last season, notching up 34 appearances in total. He has also been reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham, who like Liverpool received a boost when his agent declared the midfielder was ‘attracted by English football.’
Although Shakhtar have made the first steps in trying to push through a move, Chadli’s agent has revealed his client harbours a real desire to ply his trade in England.
“It is hard to choose Ukraine this early in the transfer window, when everyone around him wants to see him play on a Saturday in the Premier League, a competition he wants to go to really bad,” Evrard told Dutch publication De Telegraaf.
“It is not easy for a player to take the right decision.
“Financially Shakhtar was very interesting and then it’s hard to stay patient. But Chandli doesn’t want to rush things.”
The winger enjoyed an impressive season in the Eredivisie last term, scoring 12 goals in just 17 league appearances.
