Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are a little disappointed after talkSPORT revealed they held talks with a star of the World Cup but failed to persuade him to move to Old Trafford.
That comes after Colombian international winger Juan Cuadrado admitted that he held talks with Manchester United and La Liga giants Barcelona over a summer move.
Cuadrado, who was excellent for Colombia in Brazil, was continuously linked with a move away from Italian side Fiorentina.
He finished joint top alongside Toni Kroos in the assists table in Brazil and it was believed that he would be departing the Stadio Artemi Franchi in a £40 million move.
Both Barcelona and Manchester were believed to have made offers for his services as both searched for an attacking option.
And although he confirmed their interest, he also revealed that he is happy to have stayed with the Viola.
“The interest of Barcelona and Manchester? We had spoken, but the truth is that I’ve always been quiet,” said Cuadrado.
“I’m glad to get back to Fiorentina for another season. I’m fine here.”
